Kevin DurneyWith over 15 years of experience in coaching I’ve worked with players from complete beginner to British Tour.  I achieved a MSc in Sports and Exercise Psychology and the prestigious Level 5 Master Club Coach Qualification taking me all around the country working with some of the best coaches and psychologists in our sport and earning an BSc honours degree in tennis coaching management with Northumbria University.

My coaching philosophy is all about growth and improvement both on and off the court.  My aims for the players I work with are not only to improve their tennis but also other key aspects which will help in life such as self confidence, creativity and focus to name a few.

Club Chairman – Dan Cooke

Dan CookeDan steers the club to ensure members’ interests are represented through a dedicated committee. The committee undertakes actions to ensure that maintenance, finances, safeguarding, competitions and the club’s role in the community and with the LTA are progressed. Dan started playing at Wells with Rusty Rackets on a Wednesday night and can be found on court is on a Monday night or Sunday morning.


Clare Mather – Membership Secretary

Clare MatherClare is a regular team player for the Wells in the North Somerset League and is the first point of contact for any new member.





Our captains help develop teams for competitive play in the both the summer and winter North Somerset Leagues. The teams each year very much depends on the number of players who are willing to commit to regular play and match fixtures at home and away.

Dave Mills – Men’s Captain

Dave MillsDave has been a regular on court at Wells since 2009. He developed a love of the sport after being taught by his grandfather and found every opportunity to play through school and ever since.




Julia Nest – Ladies’ Captain

Julia NestJulia was a beginner at tennis when she joined in 2013. Since then, her love of tennis has grown immensely and she enjoys putting in many hours to improve her game. As Ladies Captain she likes to encourage everyone to get on court and have fun and now oversees four ladies league teams.
