Wells A ladies team battle Lympsham A.

Having had a less than ideal start to their season, Wells A ladies team dug in for a good battle with Lympsham A.

First pair of Marie Bruckshaw and Julia Nest had an epic three set fight with the Lympsham first pair.  At one set all and Lympsham leading 5-2 it looked done and dusted but Wells clawed back to 5-4, although that finishing line was elusive and Lympsham just took the lung busting rubber two sets to one.

Second pair of Wendy Edwards and Caroline Moule breezed through their first rubber with some great play.  They then took on the Lympsham first pair with determination and once again were victors in two sets.

Bruckshaw and Nest added to the tally, winning the rubber against the second pair in two sets also, which gave Wells A an overall win 9-2.

Captain Nest was thrilled with her team’s ability to focus on the game in hand, as well as sticking to their own play, which brought them a well deserved victory in Division 2 of the North Somerset Tennis League.
