Wells B vs Wells C
Wells B Team kicked off their Division 5 campaign with an opening grudge match against the Wells C team on Monday.
The B Teams’ 1st pairing of Dave Mills and Nigel Cowlin took on Ray Brooks and Karl Tucker. Despite the blustery conditions taking there toll, both pairs were equally matched. Despite losing the first two games Mills and Cowlin took the first set 6-4. The match was far from over and both teams battled on, with the B team finally taking the match 7-5.
The 2nd pairing of Rob Powell and Graham Harvey played the C teams’ Bryan Jessett and David Cotton. The clash being equal both in hard playing and the final score. Wells B also winning 6-4 7-5.
With the windy conditions easing slightly, Dave and Nigel made light work of their second bout, winning 6-2 6-1 while the C Team managed to claim a small victory, edging out Powell and Harvey in 3 hard fought sets.
A perfect start to the season for Wells B who took 9 points to the C Teams 2. No doubt the return match will be as equally hard fought!
