The Easter Fun Tournament is BACK!

After a 9 year break this year saw the return of the Easter Fun Tournament thanks to the time and organisation skills of Vicky Flicker. It was popular, over-subscribed! The tournament was the brainchild of Brian and Ruth Clarke and we were delighted that Ruth was able to join us today. Jane shared her bit of history, in that 25 years ago it was her first tournament that she had ever participated in, and won at the club, thanks to Brian and Ruth being at the helm and organising.

And for the return of this fun event, we were blessed with great weather, if a little windy but we can’t have it all. It was great to see a range of players join in the fun and new members too.

The format worked really well with winners staying put and losers moving on. Each timed match being with a new partner. A great way to meet new members and practice against a variety of styles!

After 6 matches the results were in. Congratulations to the two winners, Sue Llorca in the ladies and Matt Jenkins in the men’s. Runner ups were close behind, well done to Jane Luther and Andy Scott. All are now proud recipients of chocolate eggs kindly presented by our President Deborah.
