125 Years of Tennis at Wells Tennis Club
Come and join us on the 31st July 2022 as Wells Tennis Club celebrates 125 years of tennis.
1897 saw Queen Victoria celebrate her diamond jubilee, the Blackwall Tunnel was open for traffic and Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula first published. The day will include a few fun tournaments and social gatherings, as well as the formal opening of our newly refurbished tennis courts.
Timetable
10.00 – 12.00 Sunday social tennis & lazy breakfast of coffee and croissants
12.00 – 13.30 Free play tennis & social lunch
12.30 – 13.00 Formal opening of new courts – Mayor & past chairmen of WTC
14.00 – 14.45 Wooden racquets & tennis whites tournament, fizz and strawberries
15.00 – 16.00 Members fun tournament – all ages welcome
The idea is to bring and share food and drink throughout the day, we’d be
