Weather can’t dampen Wells spirits as all four Men’s team win.
Wells A team travelled to Burnham’s Avenue club to face their A team. Matt Goatcher, James Edwards, Matt Ames-White and Seth Cunningham didn’t let the unfamiliar astro courts stop them, blasting to an impressive 10-0 win.
Avenue B travelled to face Wells B at home. After a long first match that was lost 6-7 6-7, Dave Mills and Rob Powell found their feet winning the second match. Marcus Fisher and Kevin Durney had no such problems and won both rubbers. Wells B winning 8-3 overall.
The C Team were away at Backwell, winning 8-2, thanks to players Ed Pearce, Neil Coleman, Ray Brook and Karl Tucker.
Wells B had a much harder home clash against Winscombe B. Colin Blatchford Brown, Dave Cotton, Martyn Holliday and Richard Hole all won and lost in equal measure, but in securing 3 more games than their opponents, managed to claim the tie 6-4.
A great night in challenging conditions.
