League matches resume

After the bank holiday break the men’s and ladies’ teams resumed their play home and away.

Well done to the ladies’ teams with 3 out of 4 wins. All teams had the wind to contend with but for the A Team it was extra challenge not needed with a strong team at Burnham. All teams have had to adapt with new players helping various teams be able to play matches due to injuries throughout the ladies’ section.

The D team welcomed Katie to their team and the B team had a lovely surprise to find Lucy James as part of the opposition at Cheddar! It was lovely to see her and the Cheddar hospitality was also well received!

The men also had the elements to battle on Monday. Wells A had a tight match at home against Avenue A. They had a strong first pair who won both of their matches but Kevin and Tom D won their match against the B pair in a championship tie breaker and Russell and Matt G lost out in a championship tie breaker so sadly the final score was 9-3 to Avenue.

Wells B had a tough match away at Lympsham which didn’t play out in their favour.  Next week is another week, and just maybe the sun will shine!
