Junior LTA Tournament Success at Wells Tennis Club
Wells Tennis Club was proud to host an LTA Grade 5 Junior tournament on Sunday 25 January, welcoming young players from across the region for a day of competitive and enjoyable tennis.
The event featured boys’ and girls’ under-12 singles competitions and showcased a strong standard of play throughout. In the boys’ draw, twelve players competed, including two from Wells Tennis Club. The final was contested by Stanley Wood and Charlie Chao, both of whom train at the University of Bath, with Charlie Chao taking the title.
The girls’ competition included six players from around the region. Amy Cloke from Bridgend finished as runner-up, while Nuala Babb from Bournemouth was crowned champion.

Fortunately, the forecasted rain never arrived, allowing play to continue uninterrupted in great conditions. The tournament was played in a positive and friendly spirit, reflecting both the quality of junior tennis on display and the welcoming atmosphere at Wells Tennis Club.
We are delighted to be hosting more LTA-sanctioned events over the coming months for a range of junior age groups. These competitions offer a fantastic opportunity for young players to gain match experience and enjoy competitive tennis in a supportive club environment.
If you or your child is interested in taking part in an LTA event, please look out for upcoming competitions via the LTA website or our dedicated tournament page here.
