What a wonderful weekend!

Like most of the UK, Wells Tennis Club also enjoyed a super sunny Saturday and Sunday. It was the perfect opportunity for the community to get on court and imagine themselves as tennis stars of the future.

We started the weekend with our Annual Open Day. It was the best attended yet. Over 70 people came to enjoy the tennis experience. The morning saw the courts full of buddying young players, from 4 years to 17. Kevin and Ines had their hands full, but thankfully had the help in form of Isaac and Harry so everyone was able to get stuck in play their best tennis.

The afternoon also saw all courts in use with Kevin running the coaching and play session with help from Phil, and the perfect weather for our members to come and meet new faces and get their own game dusted off and perfected ahead of the league that starts this week.

We hope those new to club enjoyed their day and we look forward to seeing them on court soon. Please do get in touch with Arabella our membership secretary if you have any further questions. wellstennismembership@gmail.com

But that wasn’t the end of the sporting activity. Sunday saw U9’s coming to the club from around Somerset as part of the Red Dragon Tour. We had two Wells players involved and are delighted to report they did brilliantly. Zachary was runner up and Eddie came 3rd. Congratulations to you both and good luck with the rest of the tour. Eddie was also in action on Saturday playing the in the Somerset County Cup for the Under 8’s and is still unbeaten, what an achievement for the rest of us to aspire to.

Our league team players also dusted off their rackets in a pre-season friendly against Camvale and Puriton Tennis Club. It was the perfect opportunity to practice with partners for the the new season which starts this week. We wish the very best of luck to all our men’s and women’s team. Go Wells!
