Summer League: Wells A v Minehead A

Wells A won their first match of the Summer League battling against the weather as well as a strong Minehead team. During the evening players had to contend with hailstones, sunshine, windy and heavy rain – the Summer season certainly came in with a roar.

Wells A 1st pair, Sarah Townsend and Linda Hall lost narrowly to Minehead 1st pair, Judy Kay and Katherine Tilke, 5-7 6-7, but beat 2nd pair, Susie David and Clare Pound 6-3 6-0.
Wells A 2nd pair, Kim Hole and Vicky Flicker beat 2nd pair 6-2 6-1, but lost to 1st pair 1-6 3-6.

Result: Equal on matches, sets so winners were decided on games and Wells A won by 39 games to 32 so got 6 points.
