Wells Tennis Club Match Report – Monday 30th June & Tuesday 1st July

It was a busy couple of evenings for Wells Tennis Club this week, with teams in both the men’s and ladies’ leagues battling hard and delivering some great results.

Men’s League – Monday 30th June

Men’s A

The Men’s A team (Matt S, Mark, Matt G and Tom) delivered an impressive away performance against Backwell, securing a dominant 8-2 win. Strong teamwork and consistency saw them take control of the match early and maintain their lead throughout.

Men’s B

It was a tougher evening for the Men’s B team (Colin, Matt B, Marek and Marcus), who faced a challenging home fixture against Woodland B. Despite their best efforts, they fell to a 9-3 defeat against a strong visiting side.

Men’s C

There was no match scheduled for the Men’s C team this week.

Men’s D

Meanwhile, the Men’s D team (Martyn, Jason, Gabe and star substitute Ryan) put in a determined performance at home against Wedmore D. The match was closely contested, but Wells emerged with a well-earned 6-4 victory.

Ladies’ League – Tuesday 1st July

Ladies A

The Ladies A team (Wendy, Izzy, Beccy and Jade) fought hard away at Wedmore B in what proved to be a very tight match. Despite some excellent play, they narrowly lost 6-4 on games count back after a hard-fought contest.

Ladies B

The Ladies B team (Vicky, Corali, Caroline and Anna) enjoyed a superb home performance, securing a convincing 8-3 win against Victoria B, with strong showings across the board.

Ladies C

The Ladies C team (Lynda, Eloise, Chie and Arabella) faced a tough away fixture against Wedmore C, where they were unable to overcome their opponents, falling to an 8-3 defeat.

Ladies D

There was success for the Ladies D team (Emiliia, Elodie, Joyce and Becky), who played some excellent tennis at home to claim a resounding 10-1 victory over Winscombe C.

Congratulations to all teams for their efforts and sportsmanship. Wells Tennis Club continues to show great team spirit and competitive play across all divisions!
