Fantastic Day of Tennis: U14s LTA Grade 5 Tournament
The courts were full of energy on Sunday as we hosted an U14s LTA Grade 5 tournament thanks to organiser and referee Anna Hay.
We were thrilled to welcome players from near and far, including our eventual winner, Haldon, who travelled up from Devon and put in a strong performance throughout the day. Haldon took the top spot after a competitive final against local talent Joshua, one of four Wells players in the draw, who finished as runner-up.
Also flying the flag for Wells was Charlie, who battled hard to claim third place and gain valuable match play experience. It was great to see so many of our juniors stepping up to the challenge and embracing the spirit of competition.
Matches were played in great spirit, with players showing both skill and sportsmanship. Whether facing familiar faces or meeting new opponents for the first time, everyone took something away from the experience – from building confidence to learning how to adapt on court.
Tournaments like this are a brilliant way for young players to develop, test their game, and enjoy the excitement of match play. A big thank you to everyone who took part, and to all the supporters and again to Anna for organising the competition. We hope to host another tournament in September.
