Clubhouse Project Update: Progress and Next Steps

🧱 Appointing Our Architect
As previously shared, we have appointed CJ Architects based in Wells to lead the design of our new clubhouse. To manage costs effectively, we’ve agreed on a phased approach, allowing us to pause at key stages to assess our options, including affordability.
📐 Topographical Survey and Initial Design
The first phase involved conducting a topographical survey of our site. This survey is crucial as it provides detailed information about the land’s features, which informs the architectural design. CJ Architects are now developing initial sketch designs based on this data. Once these sketches are complete, we’ll have a clearer concept to estimate the expected investment and initiate preliminary discussions with potential builders.

The survey and additional site investigations revealed several existing services—electricity, water, and waste—that required careful consideration. Addressing these elements was essential before proceeding with the design to ensure a smooth development process. These unforeseen factors contributed to a longer timeline than initially anticipated.
