President v Chairman Shield 2025
This Sunday saw the annual President v Chairman’s Shield Cup Tournament being battled out. Vicky took the role as Tournament Director this year and set the bar very high for organisation and efficiency! The format was for 5 mixed pairs on each team to play for half an hour, trying to score as many games as possible to add to their teams total.
After a beautiful synchronised rotation round the courts all pairs had played their opposition to discover the winning side! This year the honour fell to the Chairman’s team led by Matt. He and Arabella also took the prize for winning the largest total of games during the afternoon, followed by Odie and Martyn.
The afternoon was finished off with the presentation and some delicious ‘nibbles’! And it has to be noted in a much tidier environment on and off court thanks the the great efforts by Jon and his team of volunteers who gave up their Thursday morning last week to remove the ever growing greenery around the courts and entrance.
