Wells Tennis Club hosted a Grade 5 Ranking Tournament on Wednesday October 26th for U14 Boys and Girls, which was refereed and organised by Dave Greenwood, an LTA registered referee.

Girls grade 5 winner with tournament refereeThe Girls event was run as a Round Robin and the winner with 2 wins was Joanna Champion (Millfield and Victoria TC, pictured left) and Poppy Agabani (Wells TC) was runner up with 1 win.

All matches were played as a ‘fast 4 format’. Players play the first to four games with tie-breaker at 3 games all, no ad serving and play lets on serve.

Winners and runners up were presented with trophies by Dave Greenwood.

The event was enjoyed by both players and parents and was well supported by Wells Tennis Club. Wells Tennis Club is keen to make it an annual event in the October half term.
